The southern cassowary and chicks frequent the beach, wet tropic rainforest and caravan park. They are Australia's largest flightless bird and can be dangerous. Saltwater crocodiles are sometimes seen in the waters near the bay.

Snow Pine Condo. Can't speak for all, but building G room 101 was not worth the $230 plus taxes that the room cost. Yes it was ski in / ski out. However, the beds were VERY uncomfortable, hot water was good for 1, TV's were outdated, no local information provided in rooms, way too many knick knacks, door walls could not be opened, and if you could open them, you couldn't close and lock them. The Holiday Valley resort handles reservations and advertises all of it's amenities (pool), but then it is not included with the Snow Pines Condo reservation. Overall, a great town, a very nice ski slope, and I would recommend Holiday Valley Ski Mtn. to anyone. Excellent amenities and restaurants in town, but Snow Pine Condo # G101 was not worth the money.
