Beaches A haven for surfers, Polzeath beach is the place for both novices and professionals. The shape of the bay creates fabulous waves and the beach itself is flat and sandy with plenty of rockpools to keep children entertained! During the summer months you can feel reassured knowing a lifeguard service is provided. Over the hill to the south, less than a mile away you will find Daymer Bay which has a larger river beach and swathes of sand; perfect for building sandcastles! Whilst Polzeath has restrictions on dogs, Daymer Bay welcomes dogs all year round.

Every weekend: 14/11/20 - 20/12/20 Santa at Lappa Valley Steam Railway Board the Santa Express bound for Santa's magical grotto. On selected dates between the 8th and 24th December, children and their families can take a ride on the Santa Train to his grotto where they can receive a gift from Santa. There will also be children's entertainment, balloon making, Christmas card colouring and mince pies and mulled wine for the adults! 5th - 24th December 2020 St Pirans Day Celebrations Gool Perran Lowen - Happy St Piran's Day in Cornish! St Piran's Day, celebrated on March 5th, is the national day of Cornwall, named after one of Cornwall's patron saints. According to legend, St Piran, a 5th century Irish Abbot, was thrown into the sea in Ireland tied to a mill stone; somehow he washed up on the Cornish coast still alive. He made Cornwall his new home and became the patron saint of tin-miners after rediscovering tin smelting.
Please respect our neighbours and keep your dog in our garden. Dogs left alone in the house should be restricted to the hall and dining room. There is a charge of £25 for dogs. Final payments are due one month before the let and cancellations will only be refunded if we are able to secure another booking. Payments can be made by cheque or direct bank transfer. Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic we are following the UK Government guidelines for property letting. Southview will be deep cleaned after every let and the house will be thoroughly aired. Hand sanitiser and disinfectant cleaner will be available and we ask our guests to use them as well as taking other sensible precautions - regular hand washing and following social distancing guidelines. Unfortunately, as recommended, we have had to remove all books, maps and toys.

Because of the time cleaning and airing will take we are asking our guests to vacate the property promptly by 10. 30am on Saturday. New guests can arrive any time on Sunday. To compensate for the later start we will be reducing the rental cost of your holiday by a pro rata 1 day rate. Due to new changes implemented because of Coronavirus (see above), Southview is now let from Sunday to Saturday. It is available all year round. The letting days, such as weekends out of season, could be flexible.
