There is a big shelf but there is no TV set or any other things on the shelf. However, at least it is relatively clean. The bathroom is not as nice. The wall is moldy and there is no hot water at any time of the day. Fortunately, there is air-condition and it works all right. As noted in earlier reviews, you have to go downstairs, to the "game room, " to get access to Wi Fi. The game room is where the bar, billiard, and some slot machines are (It is not really a "casino"). You have to get the passcode from the person who works at the bar and they usually ask you to buy something. There is also a giant TV screen playing Australian channels (most people staying here are Australians, possibly all work for the refugee detention center). If you need to work and use Wi Fi, this is the only place. However, the Wi Fi does not really work much. There is a Chinese restaurant (by the way, most restaurant on the island are Chinese) on the first floor of the hotel. Their food is all right but the price is quite cheap (most items are AU$6-10).

As last year was the 50th anniversary of the country and this year is the 50th anniversary of the hotel, a vast renovation project has been launched at the hotel and a new general manager has been hired. Things have changed drastically. The hotel got the coat of fresh paint it direly needed, the rooms have been refurbished and activities have been organised, which makes the Menen hotel an interesting option for your stay in Nauru. You won't find Menen Hotel on and the likes, you'll have to contact them by phone or email and either make a reservation with a wire-transfer payment or tell them you'll pay in cash upon arrival. The reservation confirmation Menen Hotel can provide you by email is also required to get a visa for Nauru. It might be a headache to get your reservation sorted, but we'll take care of that if you are joining any YPT tour to Nauru! Rooms The Menen Hotel has all kinds of different rooms, with the twin rooms being quite comfortable, equipped with televisions, fridges and microwave ovens.
